Automotive PCIe® Switches

Socionext offers a family of highly flexible PCIe® switches (Peripheral Component Interconnect Express) specifically designed for Automotive applications.

The switches feature special adaptations that make them particularly suited for use in automotive central compute platforms. They simplify the initial PCIe® enumeration process at powerup accelerating boot up while also ensuring that no unauthorized PCIe® participant can join the network. Furthermore, ports can be isolated from each other, and data transfer can be configured to be bidirectional or unidirectional. This allows e. g. different domains to use the same switch but to be secured against each other.

The switches also feature x2/x4 bifurcation per port and allow the connection of multiple bus masters (root-complexes). Multicasting and sharing resources via SR-IOV is also supported. Our PCIe® switches are AEC-Q100 qualified (grade 2) and support automotive functional safety (ASIL-B SEooC).
