The Socionext booth 500, in Hall B4, buzzed with visitors who were treated to the delights of innovative products, which included Automotive Display Solutions, In-Vehicle Graphics Computing and the SC2000 Smart-Kit, as can be seen in our video.
Remote Display Controller
The SC1701 with Integrated APIX®3 for Dual Display Applications, demonstrated how several displays could be controlled within the cockpit. Here remote displays were connected to the central unit via a high-speed video link and with the use of APIX3 technology speeds of up to 12Gbps to the display and 187Mbps back to the central unit were enabled.
Despite the high bandwidth, the typical cable length required in a car to connect a high-resolution display can be achieved.
We were also able to demonstrate that should a customer have their own Video link technology that it was still possible to use our Remote Display Controller for Remote Display Applications.
Functional safety is key within the automotive environment and here Socionext demonstrated Functional Safety with the integration of technology to support ASIL-B standard.
Video images from cameras need to be displayed instantaneously, as do images on the clusters, a frozen image increases the risk of an accident.
In-Vehicle Graphics Displays
The SC1810 SoC is a highly-integrated and scalable 2D/3D graphics processor which can easily power multiple instrument clusters, head-up displays and in-vehicle infotainment systems. In addition to its high-resolution graphics this SoC can handle 6 channels of full HD video input and 3 channels of full HD display outputs thus enabling a variety of input/output controls.
Latest Image Processor
Socionext’s latest Image Processor was demonstrated with the SC2000 Smart-Kit. Not only does it ensure the highest image quality, but it enables rapid development of mobile cameras such as drones, action and wearable cameras as well as digital still cameras. The kit includes the Smart-Kit Board stack which contains a12MP sensor board, plus the main ISP, debug and I/F board. Linux Firmware and a binary ISP control block are also included.
Innovation and Integration of Graphics and Display Solutions for the Automotive sector were certainly on display for visitors to see.
